Why are so many Republicans now withdrawing their support of Trump?

I am a lifelong conservative who identifies with the Tea Party restricted government ideology. For a while, I considered that I would support Trump over a Democrat, just because Trump might be more conservative. However, the more I heard Trump speak, the more clearly I came to know that he:

1. Is not a conservative, and has no conservative ideology. He is a populist who will say whatever he needs to say to build a coalition.
2. He doesn’t know or understand the constitution.
3. He seems to have a dangerous personality disorder.
4. His statements showed him to be a misogynistic pervert, well before the latest scandal. I refer back to the “big hands” comments for an example.
5. He lacks a presidential demeanor.
6. And so on.

So while I may reluctantly have voted for him, I was a Never-Trump-but never-a-Democrat voter in the primary. Since then, I cannot in good conscience vote for Trump based on all the objections above. I can’t vote for Hillary, either, so I suppose I will vote libertarian as a “wasted” protest vote.
